Technical visits are arranged annually to places of engineering interest and technical excellence. These can include all aspects of engineering, not necessarily connected to any form of military heritage. The destination of choice is usually decided upon at the Spring AGM where members are invited to put forward suggestions for open debate and voted on from a short list of normally 2 or 3 which are considered to be the most suitable.

Whenever possible, the visit is conducted with the help of a guided tour as this adds enormously to the overall benefit and enjoyment of the visit. Members are always encouraged to invite guests to join them on the visit as quite often because of the general nature of the visit it may prove to be of interest to individuals of differing backgrounds and experience.
